ICF is at the forefront of preparing leading-edge analyses, identifying viable market solutions, building real-world management tools, and implementing programs to account for and manage carbon emissions, and decarbonize our economy. Our team works with all levels of government, multilateral institutions, and commercial clients to develop greenhouse gas emission inventories and carbon footprints; conduct greenhouse gas mitigation policy analyses; implement solutions-based climate programs; develop climate action plans and sustainability strategies; and support organizational sustainability.

We are seeking a Climate Change & Sustainability Analyst who will be responsible for supporting ICF managers on projects related to high global warming potential gases, ozone depleting substances, hydrofluorocarbons, GHG inventories and reductions and climate and sustainability planning. Projects will range from technical, data-driven analyses to writing reports for general audiences to supporting external workshops and communication activities. You will be an essential member of 2- to 10-person project teams that will depend on you to help create accurate, timely, and high-quality products and services. You are likely to work on multiple projects, interact with all levels of staff, and have some client interaction. At ICF you have an opportunity to apply your academic knowledge, gain exposure to major projects, and interact with experts and clients in the field, while also building content knowledge and consulting skills.

What you’ll do…

  • Perform quantitative problem-solving, perform data collection and analysis, and manage large datasets.

  • Apply science or engineering principles to support regulatory and voluntary programs and plans.

  • Write reports for technical and general audiences.

  • Review literature, conduct research, and synthesize findings into concise and well-written summaries.

  • Interact with clients.

  • Prepare presentations, reports, memoranda, and other communication materials.

  • Prepare visualizations (graphics, dashboards, flowcharts) that effectively summarizes technical information/results.

  • Translate technical topics into terms that are meaningful to more general audiences.

  • Work with small teams to prepare high-quality products, pitching in wherever necessary.

  • Complete tasks in fast-paced and self-motivated environment in a timely and efficient manner.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, Mathematics, Chemical Engineering, Environmental or other related technical studies

  • 2+ years (with Bachelors) or 1+ years (with Master’s) of demonstrated professional work experience in climate and sustainability related.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of demonstrated professional work experience in climate and sustainability related.

  • Strong data and quantitative skills, experience with data visualization or IT development is a plus.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite including Microsoft Excel for complex analysis.

  • Technical knowledge around Life Cycle Assessment and GHG emissions accounting.

  • Knowledge in agriculture is a plus.

Pay Range – There are multiple factors that are considered in determining final pay for a position, including, but not limited to, relevant work experience, skills, certifications and competencies that align to the specified role, geographic location, education and certifications as well as contract provisions regarding labor categories that are specific to the position. The pay range for this position is:

$56,467.00 – $95,993.00
