<h4>Job summary:</h4> <p>We are seeking a highly experienced and detail-oriented senior advisor - safety health and environment to join our team in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. In this critical role, you will lead our efforts to ensure compliance with SH&E regulations, develop and implement comprehensive safety programs, and foster a culture of safety and environmental responsibility across our organization.</p> <h4>Key job duties:</h4> <li>Serve as the primary point of contact for all SH&E-related matters, providing expert guidance to management and staff.</li> <li>Develop, implement, and oversee comprehensive SH&E strategies and programs aligned with organizational goals and regulatory requirements.</li> <li>Conduct regular risk assessments and safety audits to identify potential hazards and areas for improvement.</li> <li>Lead investigations into accidents, injuries, and near-misses, implementing corrective actions to prevent recurrence.</li> <li>Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate SH&E best practices into all aspects of operations.</li> <li>Supervise and mentor junior SH&E staff, fostering their professional development and ensuring high-quality performance.</li> <li>Stay updated on UAE and international SH&E regulations, standards, and best practices, ensuring organizational compliance.</li> <li>Develop and deliver SH&E training programs to enhance awareness and competency across the organization.</li> <li>Prepare and present detailed SH&E reports and recommendations to senior management.</li> <li>Manage emergency response planning and crisis management initiatives.</li> <li>Liaise with regulatory bodies and represent the organization in SH&E-related matters.</li> <h4>Qualifications:</h4> <li>Bachelor’s degree in occupational safety, environmental science, or a related field.</li> <li>NEBOSH diploma or equivalent certification (required for candidates with engineering or related degrees).</li> <li>Minimum of 10 years of experience in a relevant SH&E field with a focus on supervision and leadership.</li> <li>Proven track record in developing, implementing, and managing effective safety and health programs.</li> <li>In-depth knowledge of UAE and international SH&E legislative and regulatory obligations.</li> <li>Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with excellent risk assessment and mitigation skills.</li> <li>Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to influence at all levels of the organization.</li> <li>Proficiency in using relevant software and tools for SH&E management and reporting.</li> <li>Demonstrated experience in conducting inspections, reporting issues, and following up on corrective actions.</li> <li>Familiarity with international SH&E standards (e.g., ISO 45001, ISO 14001).</li> <li>Strong leadership and supervisory skills with the ability to mentor and develop team members.</li> <li>Knowledge of local UAE safety regulations and standards.</li> <li>Willingness to travel within the UAE as required for site inspections and audits.</li> <h4>Additional information:</h4> <p><strong>About AECOM</strong></p> <p>AECOM is proud to offer comprehensive benefits to meet the diverse needs of our employees.
