Job Overview:

The Medical Laboratory Technician at Menalabs is responsible for conducting routine medical laboratory tests and procedures to support healthcare professionals in the diagnosis and treatment of patients.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Specimen Collection and Processing:
    • Collect, receive, and prepare patient samples (blood, urine, tissues, saliva, etc.) for analysis.
    • Ensure proper labeling and documentation of specimens as per Laboratory Standards. 
  • Laboratory Testing:
    • Perform a variety of routine laboratory tests using automated and manual techniques.
    • Analyze and interpret test results, ensuring accuracy and reliability.
    • Operate and maintain laboratory equipment.
  • Quality Control:
    • Conduct quality control procedures to verify the accuracy and precision of laboratory tests.
    • Monitor and maintain quality assurance and quality control records.
  • Data Entry and Record-Keeping:
    • Enter test results into the laboratory information system.
    • Maintain accurate and detailed records of tests, procedures, and patient information.
  • Collaboration:
    • Communicate effectively with healthcare professionals, including physicians and nurses, regarding test results and patient information as needed.
    • Collaborate with other laboratory staff to ensure smooth workflow.
  • Compliance:
    • Adhere to all laboratory safety and infection control protocols.
    • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and accreditation standards.
  • Continuing Education:
    • Stay informed about new laboratory techniques, technologies, and industry trends.
    • Participate in continuing education and training programs.

Qualifications:

  • Education:
    • Bachelor's degree in Medical Laboratory Technology or a related field with 2 years of experience in clinical diagnostics lab.
    • Diploma in Medical Laboratory Technology or a related field with 3 years of experience in clinical diagnostics lab.
  • Certification:
    • Certification as a Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) by a recognized university with Eligibility letter from DOH/DHA/MOH
  • Experience:
    • Previous experience in a clinical laboratory setting is preferred.
  • Skills:
    • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
    • Good organizational and time-management skills.
    • Proficient in the use of laboratory equipment and technology.
  • Communication:
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Ability to collaborate effectively with a multidisciplinary healthcare team.
