About the Role We're seeking an experienced Remote Operations Specialist to join our team. As an Operations Specialist, you'll be responsible for leading a high-performing team that delivers complex data science, machine learning, artificial intelligence, or optimization products in a timely and efficient manner. You'll work closely with business stakeholders to understand operational issues, define problems, and develop innovative solutions that drive business value. Key Responsibilities Lead a high-performing team responsible for delivering complex data science, machine learning, artificial intelligence, or optimization products Manage the creation and communication of results from complex data analysis and/or the development of data science products Foster partnerships with key business leaders, internal customers, and stakeholders to promote and advise on opportunities in your functional area Maintain a portfolio of products and prioritize the delivery of those products in alignment with internal customers, communicating results and value delivered through effective metrics Recruit, develop, and retain individuals with the skills, attitude, and experience necessary to achieve goals/responsibilities as part of a high-performing, durable team Recognize achievements and advocate for career development of employees to build a bench using mentorship, stretch opportunities, and training programs via a skills-based learning plan Create a climate where dialogue, discussion, and diversity of thought are encouraged, expected, and welcomed to foster high morale, integrity, trust, and collaboration May perform other work responsibilities as directed by Employee's Chiefs Essential Qualifications To be successful in this role, you'll need to possess the following essential qualifications: Knowledge of situational and values-based leadership to provide ongoing training to identify areas of opportunity for employees to improve team performance and hold team members accountable Knowledge of data acquisition and integration policies, platforms, and tools Knowledge of data science, machine learning, artificial intelligence, or optimization product development methodologies, platforms, and tools Skilled in leading a team to develop multiple, highly complex data science, machine learning, artificial intelligence, or optimization products in a timely, efficient manner Skilled in building strong working relationships across all levels of the organization, including employees, customers, and leadership, and communicating effectively to that network in a clear and concise manner Skilled in demonstrating self-confidence and emotional intelligence in critical discussions that result in positive action or change Gifted in developing talent to create a strong bench with the flexibility to replace key positions in functional areas Preferred Qualifications While not required, the following preferred qualifications will make you a more competitive candidate: Experience working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with a high degree of complexity Experience with data science, machine learning, artificial intelligence, or optimization product development Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate complex data insights into actionable recommendations What We Offer At Southwest Airlines, we're committed to providing our employees with a comprehensive benefits package that supports their overall well-being.
