Emirates Flight Catering offers in-flight catering services and support services to more than 100 airlines around the world from its catering facilities at Dubai International Airport. All processes involved in airline and airport production, operations, and supply chain are now concentrated at the EKFC East Wing & EKFC West Wing facilities (previously known as EKFC 1 and EKFC 3). The units together make up an impressive facility. The units cover 174,000 square meters and include the highest level of automation available for airline catering facilities. This includes a 4.2km long electric monorail for transporting meal carts and a conveyor system of 2.4km for moving clean items from the equipment cleaning area into the production kitchen for food plating, then to the operational areas for flight packaging. A vacuum waste system of over 600 meters in length is also featured in the facilities. Both facilities are equipped with the most modern systems in hygiene, energy-saving, and automated food production equipment. EKFC West Wing is a new, technologically advanced catering facility. It caters to Emirates Premium Class service for more than 250 flights daily. EKFC West Wing also provides more than 10,000 meals daily for airport lounges.
