About the Company

Fajr Interiors is a Dubai-based interior design and build company specializing in premium residential and commercial fit-out projects. We are seeking a skilled and detail-focused Technical Draftsman to take ownership of complete drawing packages — from design intent to IFC and authority submissions — ensuring high-quality, buildable documentation across all project phases.

Role Overview

The selected candidate will be responsible for preparing all technical drawings, including ID packages, Issued for Construction (IFC) sets, authority submission drawings, and basic FF&E drawings. Working under the guidance of the design and engineering teams, the Draftsman will play a key role in translating design into precise, site-ready technical documents.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare comprehensive ID drawing packages: floor plans, RCPs, elevations, sections, and detailed joinery
  • Develop complete Issued for Construction (IFC) drawing sets in coordination with design and site teams
  • Prepare authority submission packages in compliance with Dubai regulations (DM, DCD, DEWA, TECOM, etc.)
  • Translate design sketches and concepts into clear, detailed technical documents
  • MEP, structural, and joinery drawings & ensured coordination with the teams.
  • Document and maintain drawing version control and revision logs
  • Coordinate with the design team to ensure FF&E items are correctly tagged in layouts and elevations
  • Prepare and update basic FF&E schedules (item codes, dimensions, location references) based on inputs from the Design team
  • Revise drawings as per consultant/site comments and generate as-built drawings upon project completion

Technical Drawing Standards – Level of Detail (LOD)

The candidate must produce technical drawings to LOD 300–350, including:

  • Fully dimensioned plans, elevations, and sections with materials and finishes clearly annotated
  • Detailed joinery, ceiling, and partition drawings with construction build-ups
  • FF&E item tagging in layout and elevations, cross-referenced in tabular schedules
  • Service cut-outs, soffit coordination, and access requirements
  • IFC-ready drawing sets that can be used directly on-site by execution teams
  • Authority-compliant formatting, hatching, and annotations

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Interior Design, Architecture or Civil Engineering (Mandatory)
  • Minimum 3 years of UAE experience drafting for fit-out or renovation / finishing projects
  • High-level proficiency in AutoCAD
  • Strong technical knowledge in drawing joinery, ceilings, partitions, bathrooms, kitchens, etc.
  • Experience producing IFC and authority submission sets
  • Familiarity with UAE building codes and authority requirements
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple drawing packages in parallel
  • Good communication and coordination skills for working with design and site teams

Preferred

  • Previous experience in a design & build firm
  • Experience coordinating with site teams and consultants during construction
